Digital Identity | UX Lead

Team Leader & Product Designer

During my time at PayPal, I was responsible for a broad range of features on the Digital identity team. I built frameworks, playbooks, design operations procedures and other foundational elements that allowed a team of product and content designers to build intuitive and frictionless Experiences for millions of PayPal customers.

I was a critical driver in building our team’s social capital, influence and business relationships with other organizations throughout the entire global organization (PayPal UI, PayPal Web, Zettle, Venmo, Braintree & Customer Experiences).

Outside of team leadership and design operations, my primary deliverable was a structural foundation/framework for Designers, Developers, Content Designers, Product Owners and other stakeholders to build and enhance PayPal’s authentication platform. I essentially built a playbook with functional/tech specs, design formatting, accessibility hooks and visual design components into a template format for any of PayPal’s global teams to re-use or extend.

This work allowed our team to effortlessly scale and prepare PayPal products to offer consumers innovative ways to access their accounts. Most notably, the framework I created was used as a building block for a new biometric authentication option. Designers were able to easily fold in and extend the design to accommodate “Passkeys”. The team went on to collaborate with FIDO alliance members Google, Apple & Microsoft and seamlessly shipped a password-less login method for users.
